タイムスリップ
主計町茶屋街は素晴らしい散策のスポットです。ひがし茶屋街の近くに位置し、美しい赤色の町屋、石畳、狭い路地は、昔の茶屋街の様子を垣間見せてくれます。浅野川沿いの桜並木が続く街道を歩けば、まるで明治時代にタイムスリップしたかのような気分を味わえます。
かつてこの街にある町屋の多くで、芸者さん達が上流階級の客人をもてなしていました。現在では、いくつかの町屋が住宅、カフェや喫茶店、ギャラリーとして利用されています。でもがっかりしないでくださいね、芸者さんがいるお店も現存しています。建物はエアコンや電気など時代に合わせたアップグレードを除けば、ほとんどが手付かずのまま。主計町茶屋街もまた、日本の豊かな歴史を感じとることができる場所として残っているのです。
Step back in time
While wandering around the city, Kazuemachi Chaya-gai (Tea District) is another fantastic place to visit. Located near Higashi Chaya District, the beautiful red buildings, cobblestones, and narrow alleyways offer a small glimpse at what the old tea-house districts looked like. The main road with the sakura (cherry blossom) trees lining the Asanogawa River teleports you back a few centuries into the early Meiji period.
These wooden buildings and tea houses were once filled with Geisha entertaining high-end clients with music, dance, and a lot of food. These days some of the buildings are used as residential properties, cafés and coffee shops, and small independent galleries. Don’t fret, You can still enjoy Geisha performances here too. Apart from the occasional upgrade like air conditioning or electricity, these buildings mostly remain untouched. Kazuemachi is another fantastic way to experience part of Japan’s rich history.
